Mini Concentration Proposal
Mini Concentration Proposal
Lindsay Stewart
For my first concentration, I decided to first paint a landscape of a Haiti market place in Por Tau Prince that I visited 2 years ago. I will be using acrylic paint as the material, painting the concentration on canvas. Everything in the painting will contain dull, dark, faded colors to show the poverty and hard life these beloved people live and where they come from looks like. The people though in the painting will be fills will bright, fresh colors to symbolize their spirits and they faith in their lives. These bright colors against the faded ones will really stick out and show to the human eye how these bright colors against the faded ones can really show how positive and maybe even to some they will see the happiness in the people of the painting. I’m meaning for this to show cause this is what Haiti is all about, faithful people with positive and hopeful sprits living in a place like that. This where my passion truly stands, my heart belongs to my brothers and sisters down in Haiti. That’s why I choose this scenery for my first concentration. Tying in to the scenery of the market place, my next concentration will be of a Haitian bus. The reason I choose this idea was cause these busses that drive around in Haiti are like no others anyone has ever seen. They are colorful, covered with designs and artwork, they have words of encouragement painted on them, and they overall bring color and happiness into any small run down town in Haiti. In this concentration as well I will be using and experimenting with acrylic paint, and once again combining bright happy colors against dull and faded colors. The reason I have tied Haiti into my two concentrations is because its where my heart truly belongs. My love and passion is devoted to helping those less fortunate then me, especially for my brothers and sisters down in Haiti. While painting these two concentrations I will keep in mind of my memories from these towns and experiences, through these paintings I will show my views what Haiti is really like, through the eyes of s stranger.
